The culture of Greensboro is very much friendly southwestern blended with a connection to the native people. There are various historical sights, monuments, and cultural centers throughout the city. They all pay homage to the Saura people who lived on those lands for thousands of years before Europeans settlers made their way over. Greensboro is home to many unique and interesting musicians, painters, poets, and writers.

The wildlife

There are various wildlife centers in the city, though the city isn’t home to many interesting animals itself. Just your typical squirrels, pigeons, raccoons, etc. But, the surrounding Carolina countryside is home to much more interesting animals. You can find deer, bears, ducks, geese, rabbits, and opossums. Hops is a pretty middle of the spectrum restaurant price-wise, it isn’t going to break the bank but you might not want to eat there every day. If you are looking for the perfect restaurant to visit on date night, the Print Works Bistro is the place to go. It is perfectly fine for friends, or even families, to visit. It is just somewhere extra special for your next date night. It may be the most expensive option in this article, but it doesn’t have to break the bank. The Tanger Family Bicentennial Garden is home to seven and a half acres of beautiful flowers, trees, and interesting sculptures. The park is free of charge to enter so it should certainly make it onto your schedule, if only for an hour or two. The sculptures are all very interesting and very uniquely made from copper and other such metals. The park is open from sunrise to sunset so you can easily find time to fit it into your day.

The Guildford Courthouse National Military Park is not just a beautiful park. Sure, it has a wonderful wooded walking area and an interesting array of plants and flowers, but it is so much more than that. There are various statues, monuments, and plaques to pay homage to those in the military both past and present. Many of the plaques and signs in the park can be very educational. You won’t be walking through the bog, so much as you would be walking over it. You will be walking through the boggy woods on a raised boardwalk. This allows you to see more of the woods and the woodland animals without having to physically walk through a bog. This park is also open all year round, it is free on top of that. There are all sorts of marine animals there for you to see too, from penguins to sharks. Even as far inland as North Carolina you can instill a real connection to the sea in your children.

The park is free to visit, though some times the exhibits and events that they have going on might cost extra.

The house shows just how interesting the lives of the early settlers in North Carolina were all the way through to modern times. Ambleside Gallery is named after Ambleside in the United Kingdom. The Ambleside fine arts group was founded in the UK and has since made its way across the pond to North Carolina. This might not be the best place to bring children, as they may find it a little dull. It is however perfect for going on dates.
